ArtHaus presents the Minneapolis-based duo The Ericksons in the ArtHaus Studio Courtyard Friday, Aug. 23, at 8 p.m., sponsored by Palisades Inn.
Originally from the LaCrosse area, Indie/Folk duo Bethany and Jenny Erickson performed in and around New York City for four years before returning to the Midwest in 2010. The Ericksons recorded their first album "Middle of the Night," live in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 2008 and their sophomore album, "don't be scared, don't be alarmed," at Smart Studios in Madison, Wis. They were named Womenfolk Find of the Month on KFAI Radio Without Boundaries, and have played in Minnesota Public Radio's Studio M, as well as Cities '97's Studio C,
Since their last appearance at ArtHaus in June 2011, The Ericksons have soared to the top of the Twin Cities music scene, and have recently released a new album, "The Wild," Says Andrea Swenssen of 89.3 the Current, "The Ericksons' "Gone Blind" has already become one of my most-spun tracks of 2013. Gorgeous stuff."
The concert will be held at the courtyard between the ArtHaus Studio and Vesterheim Museum at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23. Tickets are $8, $6 for students, and guests are welcome to bring their own refreshments. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held inside ArtHaus (508 W. Water Street).
