KPVL 89.1 The Blend, Northeast Iowa's community radio station, has hired a new general manager. Richard Pirodsky brings more than two decades of experience in radio -- in New York, Los Angeles and Kansas City -- to his position. The public is invited to an open house and ribbon-cutting at the station's Decorah studio Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to take this opportunity to meet the new general manger, find out what's in the works at the station, learn about ways to get involved as an on-air or off-air volunteer and offer input and suggestions to the staff.

See next week's Public Opinion for interviews with Pirodsky and other members of the KPVL staff.
